Pressure advance: sharp corners and even lines
It compensates nozzle pressure when the printer accelerates or brakes: without it corners bulge or stay hollow.
Calibration
- Run OrcaSlicer’s Pressure advance test (Calibration > Pressure advance).
- Print it and find the value where corners are sharpest and lines even.
- Save the value in the filament profile.
- Repeat for each filament and for different nozzles.
When you need it
- Bulging or gapped corners
- Lines thicker at the start and thinner at the end
- Non-Bambu printers: Bambu machines calibrate it themselves
Note
On Klipper it’s called pressure advance, on Marlin linear advance (K factor).
