Temperature tower: find the right temperature for each filament
Every spool is different: a test tower shows the temperature where it prints best.
How to do it
- In your slicer open Calibration > Temperature (OrcaSlicer) or download a temperature tower.
- Set the filament’s range in 5 °C steps (for example PLA 190–230 °C).
- Print the tower at your usual quality.
- Inspect each block: strings, surface, bridges, overhangs and layer strength.
- Pick the best block and save that temperature in the filament profile.
How to read the result
- Too hot: strings, soft corners, dull surfaces
- Too cold: weak layers, gaps, extruder noise
- Right: even surface and fused layers
